The Rebbe:
The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of sainted memory, began sending his disciples to the far reaches of the earth to strengthen Jewish identity and education from the moment he began his tenure as leader of the Chabad movement. The Rebbe, as he is commonly referred to, is the inspiration for Chabad of Davis, and his teachings and directives are the guiding light for reaching out to each Jew with love and sensitivity.

Rabbi Shmary:
Rabbi Shmary Brownstein, co-director of Chabad of Davis, was born in Buffalo, NY and raised in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, NY, in close proximity with the Rebbe. He was educated in Yeshivahs in France, Canada, the USA, and Australia. He received his Rabbinic ordination from the Semicha Institute of Melbourne, Australia. In September of 2003 he and his wife Sorele moved out to Davis to establish Chabad, and they haven't looked back since.
Rebbetzin Sorele:
Rebbetzin Sorele Brownstein was born and raised in Milan, Italy, daughter of two dedicated emissaries of the Rebbe. She was educated in Italy, Pittsburgh, PA, and Melbourne, Australia. She multiplies her time as co-director of Chabad of Davis, creating the "home-away-from-home" Jewish students have found so edifying, and as mother of seven energetic young men.
The Brownstein children:
The Brownstein boys are integral members of the Chabad team, sharing their knowledge of Jewish thought and practice, their enthusiasm, and their warmth with all.
